How Sarkari Naurkri Is Visualised Among The People In India In The Course Of Time
By Rajnish Mehan
No doubt, sarkari naukri is a well known entity in a country like India because millions of people are presently earning their livelihoods from these jobs. There couldn’t be better people who can explain the different aspects of being in a job with the government. Be it the central government or the state government, a job in the government offices and related areas can be quite satisfying and well paid. There are different sectors in the country, where people of the country can avail different jobs. They are spread across a wide range of sectors and include a large assortment of jobs. It is the responsibility of the government in power to enable the candidates to get into the jobs. And to this end, a number of advertisements are brought out at regular intervals, declaring the vacancies that are found in different departments of the government. Offices, industries, hospitals, railways, postal, etc are major areas for the establishment of different jobs in the government. Hence, the fact that there are sarkari naukri for the people is irrefutable. But, the point that should be given a thought is what people think of the government jobs. Past Trends: The past of such jobs in India has been a glorious period. People were interested for these jobs from the time of independence. Every person who was somewhat educated wanted to get into the sarkari naukri, in whichever sector he could. Although there were the officer jobs in those days, which included the civil service jobs, yet not everyone was so highly educated. Since agriculture was the basis of livelihood for many people, few people thought about getting into the jobs. Then came a time when people started getting into schools and colleges and graduation was a common profile in many resumes. People were interested for jobs in the government and they also made themselves qualified enough to enter into these jobs. The competition to enter into these jobs gradually began to increase and people had to appear in different types of entrance exams to secure a job in many types of work profiles. Modern Scenario: In the late part of the 20th century, the sarkari naukri was in a position of threat by the advent of many private industries who found the Indian population laborious and who could work at cheaper costs. Many companies also were allowed to establish their offices in the country due to liberal laws and policies. To attract the best talents in the country, these companies offered a number of people handsome salaries and various other perks. Since the advent of such companies, there has been a high influx of people into the private jobs, but this was all short lived. People started realising that the government jobs or sarkari naukri gave them the liberty to work without stress and had a comfortable working hour. People were happier when they were working for the government. This realisation still goes on and has balanced the job profile in the country. Now, both the government jobs and private jobs are existing in tandem and people are also happy that they can choose the organisation as per their liking. The passage of the job scenario of the country through different forms has finally benefited people with the conclusion that sarkari naukri has its own advantages, but people can still make a choice.
