More Than Studies Required For Medical Entrance Exam Success – Is It Unbelievable?

Every student, who has thought of appearing in the entrance tests for medical admissions after the 10+2 exams, must have had sleepless nights. This is natural, considering the magnitude of competition that he or she faces in any of the medical entrance test. For the aspirants of MBBS or BDS seats, there are a few entrance exams being conducted at the national level and also at the state levels. In many state of India, such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, etc, there are common entrance tests or joint entrance tests being conducted. Students are required to appear in these exams which are conducted for admissions into the medical, engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses. Those interested for medical seats can appear in the biology papers and leave the mathematics part. The majority of the seats in the state government colleges and few private universities are filled up through these tests. Presently, the states allow for 15% seats of their colleges to be filled up through the AIPMT or All India Pre-Medical Test which is conducted throughout the country for seats in most of the government medical colleges. This exam is the most famous exam for the students aiming for seats in MBBS and BDS degrees. And the turnout of applicants is also the maximum for this entrance exam. Some other central institutes like AIIMS, BHU, AFMC, JIPMER, etc conduct their own tests for intake of students into the limited number of seats. These are highly competitive because of the large number of students appearing for the medical exam, although the seats are almost less than a hundred. Highly Competitive Medical Entrance With this spectrum of medical entrance exams, the students are required to score high ranks to enable themselves to get admitted into the institutes. So, one can easily comprehend that the entrance exams are high competitive and tough and require a thorough preparation. There are many advices and clues to prepare for such exams. Also, there are many coaching institutes for helping and guiding students in the process of preparation. Missing Link But, even though all of it is done with discipline, there is another factor which weighs heavily in the final ranking. The most important factor which will drive every student towards a successful attempt in the medical entrance exam is the dedication to serve people. The very profession of a doctor is that of being selfless and dedicating one’s life towards the service of mankind. There is no other job which can be equated to that of the medical profession, because people do not have a proper life of their own. The ethics of working as a doctor differ from every other profession as people will be required to deal with human life at every step. This will warrant a selfless service. And therefore, students who are confident that they can devote their lives and their precious time for the service of mankind, should go ahead and prepare for the medical entrance exams. Though there is enough money in this profession, it will not matter when the human life is at the altar. A medical professional is never known by the money he or she has but by the popularity among the patients. The factor missing in every failed attempt in the entrance exam is that of passion to get into the medical profession and there is no substitute for it.
