Studying management in a B school is one of the preferred paths that the students are taking up these days. After finishing their graduation in various subjects, the students pursue MBA degrees, PGDBM, FPM, and other such courses of management in the business schools in India. For pursuing such courses, the students need to appear in the entrance exams that are conducted in the country for various colleges. And, they have the options of appearing in a wide number of exams. In accordance to the demand of the students, a number of management colleges are opening up in different parts of the country. Many are there which have been imparting these courses since many years. Among the various institutes that are found in the country, there are some top business schools for which the admissions take place through the MAT entrance exam. This is one of the revered exams for the MBA aspirants to pursue management courses in the top management colleges in the entire country. Hence, the popularity of such institutes is unquestionable. Plenty of students appear in the Management Aptitude Test every year and they need to understand the following features to get through the test. Exam – Management Aptitude Test or MAT is an exam conducted by the All India Management Association for admissions to a number of business schools in the country. This is conducted four times in a year, in the months of February, May, September and December. The score for a particular exam is valid for a year from the date of declaration of result. Exam pattern – This aptitude test, each time is nowadays conducted in two methods, both in paper mode and online mode. The dates of both the modes are different. It is only a few days of difference in which the exams are conducted. Each exam consists of a set of objective questions which is required to be answered in a time limit of 150 minutes. Question pattern – Students who are interested for this particular exam should know about the questions that are usually asked. This includes Indian and global environment, mathematical skills, language comprehension, intelligence and critical reasoning and data analysis and interpretation. Each of the portions consists of 40 questions and all the questions have equal score of 1 mark, although one-fourth marking is deducted for every wrong answer. The Date Sheet - The dates of the exam are to be known by the students because it will help them to decide the particular one out of the four, which they intend to appear in. Exam is conducted 4 times in total in a year, which lends a convenience to the aspiring candidates. They can select the one in every 3 months and prepare accordingly. Students are not required to wait for another year to appear in this test to take admissions in the top management institutes of the country. Preparations – The exam is being attended by hundreds of thousands of students every time in a year. They are eager to score good marks and therefore need to prepare accordingly to excel and score the best possible ranks. Since the ranks are important determinants for choosing the colleges, the students need to be thorough with their syllabus, so that they can come out with their expected ranks.
